Sue Lowell Gallion in three scenes:
- Sue is the 2016 picture book debut author of PUG MEETS PIG, illustrated by Joyce Wan, published by Beach Lane Books/Simon & Schuster, about a pug whose happy home life vanishes when Pig arrives to stay. Will Pug have to pack up and move out, or can Pug and Pig learn to live together as friends?
- This story celebrates the themes of embracing change, adapting to someone new in the family, developing empathy, and friendship. Activity and curriculum guides for teachers, librarians, and parents will be available in September at suegallion.com. Pug and Pig’s adventures continue with Halloween mischief in a second book, tentatively scheduled for release summer 2017.
- While Sue was growing up, her family ran a printing company in her hometown of Kansas City. She became an expert at stamping envelopes, climbing skids of paper, and boxing books, but she always wanted to write a children’s book of her own. Some of her favorite things to do are read picture books with kids and walk her dog, a black lab mix named Tucker. Please don’t tell Tucker that Sue’s debut picture book is about a pug and a pig -– not him!
